Day 2 of the Workshop was kicked off with an introduction by RFU’s Sustainability Manager, Dru Morton. After he welcomed the participants, members were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of Twickenham Stadium where Morton disseminated a lot of technical data regarding the venue, its operations and sustainability credentials.

BioSec recently joined ESSMA as a new Corporate Partner. BioSec is a R&D company specialised in (biometric) mass management, ticketing and access control.

Arsenal’s Deputy Stadium Manager, Michael Lloyd, opened the event by welcoming everyone to the venue. In his opinion, BASIS is the perfect organisation in terms of environmental impact and energy consumption needs of sport venues for likeminded stadium executives who want to work together.

The inaugural ESSMA-BASIS Smart & Sustainable Stadium Workshop was co-hosted by Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium on Day 1 and the home of England Rugby, the Rugby Football Union (RFU’s) Twickenham Stadium on Day 2.
