Thanks to ESSMA’s Stadium Partner Get2Know (G2K), Egyptian fans were able to attend the CAF Champions League game between Al Ahly (Egypt) and Wydad (Morocco). 10.000 fans were allowed into the Borg El Arab Stadium.

This year’s World Stadium Congress was held 21-24 May in Doha, Qatar with a focus on the delivery requirements for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. Together with several stakeholders, participants had the chance to discuss pre-event, on the day and post-event delivery requirements – from construction, to fan experience, to legacy and beyond.

Tuesday 11 April, the team bus of German side Borussia Dortmund is on its way to Signal Iduna Park for the Champions League quarter-final against Monaco, when three explosive devices go off. One player, Marc Bartra and one policeman got injured. 

Major international sporting and other public events present serious policing and security challenges for host countries. As well as taking place in large, complex and dispersed locations, such events can attract a range of criminal activities from disorder and violence to cyberattacks and even terrorism.
