ESSMA Safety Management Workshop at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund

The European Stadium and Safety Management Association (ESSMA) will assemble during the Safety Management Workshop. This event will take place in Dortmund (Germany) from 7 to 8 November at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park.

Topics during this two-day workshop include steward and relevant training, pyrotechnics, impact of the ‘Gelbe Wande’, ingress and egress, fan interaction and best practices in good hosting.

Signal Iduna Park

The stadium, home of Borussia Dortmund, is Germany’s largest football stadium with a capacity of 81,360. Since the third expansion phase has been completed, it is one of the largest and most comfortable stadiums in Europe. Furthermore, the stadium is often referred to as “the Temple”.

 

During the 2006 FIFA World Cup several games including the semi-final between Germany and Italy were held at Signal Iduna Park.
