SV Zulte Waregem are developing their facilities in order to take the club to the next level. Within the development process the club focused both on its stadium and training centre. Last year the training centre has been finished (read more about this via following link). The stadium project has been divided in 4 different stages, which will result in a final stadium capacity of around 14,000. 

ESSMA member Philips Lighting wowed fans prior to the Juventus – Fiorentina game with a mesmerizing pre-match light show using its new Philips ArenaVision LED pitch lighting system. This system meets the latest standards of TV broadcasters and international football federations and proved to be a hit with fans expressing their delight on social media. 

Over the last couple of years ESSMA organised various Pitch Management related events, with the main goal to exchange knowledge between peers and colleagues. However, this year was the first time to organise a Pitch Management workshop.

Blog MathiasI finished my Master's degree in September 2015, after which I realized I had no experience in the ‘real’ world. Although I was a bit skeptic at first to do another internship before I would start job searching, I have not regretted it one single minute.

As been presented during the ESSMA Summit in Bilbao, in January 2016, ESSMA will organise 4 dedicated workshops around their areas of expertise (Pitch Management, Stadium Management, Fan Entertainment and Safety Management). Each of these workshops will be accompanied by a dedicated case study, collecting and presenting additional insights. 

ESSMA is very pleased to welcome the Swiss Football League as a new League Member. Together we’re looking at the future and believe this agreement is beneficial for both parties. 

During and after the Small & Medium Sized Stadium Tour, ESSMA had the opportunity to visit two stadiums in construction: the Allianz Stadion in Vienna and the Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion in Budapest. Time for an update about these 2 projects. 

ESSMA organised The Small & Medium-Sized Stadium Tour to get insights in how smaller stadiums are managing and operating their venues. The tour crossed Switzerland (Sint. Jakob Park, SwissporArena), Austria (Allianz Stadion, Albert Schultz Eishalle) and Hungary (Audi Arena, Groupama Arena). 

After a successful first workshop on safety management, ESSMA organised the Stadium Management workshop which took place 31st May to 1st June. Over those 2 days we could welcome several speakers on different topics giving us more insights in general stadium development, operations and sustainability. 

The World Soccer Congress took place from 1-3 June 2016 in Shanghai. This congress focused on the world soccer industry development and China soccer reform in particular. As an association partner, ESSMA supported this event providing a keynote speaker, stressing the growing importance of China as a football nation and industry.
