Stadiaworld and ESSMA, The European Stadium & Safety Management Association, conducted a survey amongst operators of professional sports stadiums. More than 500 operators from four continents were asked about their weighting of several topics.

The second USA Fan Experience Tour took us to the West Coast, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, from 6 to 11 November. On this tour we visited 9 unique venues with 24 European stadium experts from 7 different countries. The main focus was to inspire European stadiums with best practices on fan and customer experience. 

The first edition of the World Football Summit in Spain took place 27th and 28th October in Madrid. As a meeting point for professionals, companies and institutions - the movers and shakers shaping the future of football in the world - this Summit proved to be successful. 

The 4th edition of Football avenue will be held 9th and 10th November in Torino. A part of the mission of this event is to show a new path to Italian football. 

IOG Saltex, Europe’s largest annual turf show is taking place 2 and 3 November in Birmingham (United Kingdom) and is set to educate, enthral and entertain. 

The Pitch Management Workshop took place in Paris 30th and 31st August. Both the Clairefontaine National Training Centre and the Stade de France were hosts of this workshop. Read our full report here

The first edition of the World Football Summit in Spain will be held 27th and 28th October in Madrid. This summit presents itself as a meeting point for professionals, companies and institutions. 

ESSMA Stadium Partner Philips Lighting and ESSMA Stadium Member Atletico Madrid announced an agreement to supply the lighting of the club’s new stadium. Under the agreement, Philips Lighting becomes the official lighting partner of Atletico Madrid for the next four seasons. 

The Polish Football Forum took place 22 September in Warsaw. The goal of this forum is to build a coherent strategy for the continuous growth of Polish football based on European experiences. ESSMA was present through its managing director Dimitri Huygen. 


Together with other partners, ESSMA signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding), thus joining the global green sports conversation.
